ISW Master’s Researchers Graduation

On 19 December 2025, a significant milestone was reached at the Institute of Social Work.
Nine out of ten students enrolled in the NORHED II–sponsored Master’s Degree in Social Work successfully completed their studies. Behind this lies a powerful story of persistence, opportunity, and impact. These graduates navigated demanding academic programmes while engaging deeply with research, practice, and community-based learning—preparing themselves to confront some of the most complex social challenges of our time.
The NORHED II-funded RESILIENT Project did more than fund education; it enabled access, sustained commitment, and academic excellence. Each graduate represents a multiplier effect—carrying new knowledge, research skills, and professional capacity back into institutions, communities, and policy spaces where they are urgently needed.

This milestone underscores the value of long-term investment in social work education and practice in the EAST Africa Community. It is not simply a record of completion, but a testament to what becomes possible when targeted research funding, institutional support, and student resilience align to help create lasting social impact.
