Yohana Paul Kakulu is a dedicated social work professional with a comprehensive education background from Institute of Social Work, Tanzania. He is currently studying a Master’s Degree in Social Work under the 6-year project titled “Building Resilient Communities through Inclusive Education in East Africa,” (RESILIENT Project) under the sponsorship of NORHED. His research publication will be focused on the effectiveness of strategies used by the elderly to address socio-economic challenges in rural Tanzania.
Yohana has both a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and a Diploma in Social Work from the esteemed Institute of Social Work, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He also holds an online certificate from Alison platform and is currently enrolled in a Diploma in Psychology short course from the Alison online platform. With extensive training and a strong foundation in social work principles and practices, Yohana has developed a deep understanding of the complexities and subtleties of the field. His academic journey has equipped him with skills necessary to address diverse social issues and advocate for vulnerable group populations.
Yohana is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the community to restoring the positive change through his work. He has volunteered at Fadhillah orphanage centre and Shalom orphanage centre, gaining valuable hands-on experience and making differences in the lives of children. Additionally, kakulu has worked as self-made teacher (tutor) and academic coach in social work professional, assisting students from Open University and Institute of Social Work. His guidance and support have helped many students succeed in their academic and professional endeavours.
He is now on Social Lab at Hale village in Tanzania where he works with elders to improve their resilience and reducing poverty as well as vulnerability and promote their wellbeing.
