FRANK GASPER YONAKIA

Frank Gasper Yonakia is a Tanzanian social worker. He holds a Diploma in Community Development from Teofilo Kisanji University, a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the Institute of Social Work and is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work at the Institute of Social Work in Dar es Salaam under the sponsorship of the RESILIENT project funded by NORAD. He has worked as social worker in different settings including government institutions, private and civil society organizations. He volunteered as an office assistant at the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) headquarters working with the elderly in social health insurance where he gained experiences in social security particularly with elderly in formal and informal sector.

Aspiring to be an Academician, Frank has experiences of working as a tutorial assistant Social Work at Mgao Health Institute in Njombe Tanzania. He also had experiences of working in community development programs with marginalized groups and key vulnerable populations particularly female sex workers, adolescent and young women in the efforts of HIV prevention in the Victoria lake zone regions, providing consultancy and supportive supervision as an umbrella organization lead for HIV prevention under Mlango project of Tanzania Health Promotion Support (THPS) financed by Global fund. He is currently taking part in Social labs project an intervention for economic inclusion for the elderly in Tanga region.
