Othumani Rusabi Hamisi

Othumani Rusabi Hamisi holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Dar es Salaam, having graduated in 2022. He is currently advancing his education by pursuing a Master’s Degree in Social Work at the Institute of Social Work, Dar es Salaam. With a strong commitment to social justice and community well-being, He has consistently demonstrated a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of others.

His studies are supported by a 6-year project titled “Building Resilient Communities through Inclusive Education in East Africa,” (RESILIENT Project) under the sponsorship of NORHED.

In his professional career, he has worked with MethadoneFamily against Drug Abuse (MEFADA), where he provided critical support to individuals and families affected by drug abuse. This role allowed him to gain substantial experience in addiction counseling and rehabilitation support.

Currently, he is engaged in Social Labs on the RESILIENT Project at Kising’a Village in Tanzania, where he focuses on supporting and improving the quality of life for elders.

Othumani is committed to upholding the core values of the profession and effecting meaningful change is dedicated to enhancing his expertise in social work and is passionate about contributing to community resilience through inclusive education and social support initiatives.
